British F3 International Series

Brackley, UK –Sunday 27 March 2011:

T-Sport would like to congratulate their former driver, Sergio Perez, on his outstanding performance in this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix.

Perez made his Formula One debut in Melbourne, starting off with a solid qualifying position on the seventh row of the grid to take thirteenth place.  He then drove a very mature race to bring home his Sauber in seventh place, one spot ahead of his more experienced team mate, Kamui Kobayashi, allowing him to score an impressive six points.

Melbourne also marked the debut of new tyre manufacturer, Pirelli, and Perez confounded the Formula One community by being the only driver to make one single pit stop during the race, with all of the other frontrunners making two or three stops apiece.

Sergio began driving for T-Sport in 2007, taking the British Formula 3 National Class Championship.  In 2008, he was involved in an exciting four way battle for the International Class with the three Carlin drivers, which ran to the last weekend of the season with the Championship eventually being taken by the current Toro Rosso driver, Jaime Alguersuari.
